How to Fix Error Code 10

It’s not that Windows XP is a bad OS. It’s because of users that their PC encounters errors. On Windows XP, any error encountered will have a corresponding an error message. This prevents malwares from entering the system. Make sure to update your Windows XP. This way, your system will be upgraded and you can get bug fixes and security upgrades. You must also install an anti-virus and an anti-spyware. This will protect your computer from millions of malwares by detecting the malwares and removing them from the system. Make sure that you also update these applications. You should also run scans regularly. You can also use another firewall. This would further enhance your PC’s security.
Sometimes, malwares are acquired from surfing the net. What you need to do to make sure that you don’t get any malwares from the internet is to avoid websites that are suspicious. Also, do not open unsolicited e-mails. You should also make use of a pop-up blocker so that no pop-up web pages will suddenly come out.
If you have already encountered an error message on your PC, what you can do is to fix it manually. One of the most common errors that you may encounter is the Code 10 error. Code 10 error occurs when a device does not have a proper driver installed on your PC. It could also be that the driver installed is malfunctioning. Furthermore, the driver installed may not have been installed properly and thus, some driver files may be missing. Fixing such a problem is quite easy. What you have to do is to simply update the drivers. To do this, you will have to go to the device manager. There are two ways of going to the device manager:
- Through My Computer
- Mouse over the My Computer icon and right-click it.
- Select Properties
- Go to the hardware tab and click the Device Manager Button. - Through Control Panel
- Click start and choose Control Panel
- Click the System icon
- Go to the hardware tab and click the Device Manager Button.
Once you have reached the Device Manager window, you should see a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark on it. That symbol signifies the hardware device that has the problem. Right click on the hardware device’s icon and choose update. Follow the instructions. Once the update is finished, you may now restart the computer. Your PC should be fine now.
